Espresso Martini

Jade has come up with another cocktail to add to the every growing number.

It’s based on Smirnoff Espresso Vodka and is flavoured with raspberry, chocolate and coffee.

I’ve not tried it yet so expect tipsy bar owners this weekend!!

The Bambi

Another new cocktail… based on Irish Cream, Amaretto and Brandy.

It was named by one of our regulars because it contains: B(aileys) AM(aretto) B(randy)… plus it makes your legs buckle after you’ve had a few of them!!

Open Saturdays

I’ve spoken to several people who say they didn’t know Aggie’s Bar was open EVERY SATURDAY. They assumed it was a one-off.

Well it’s not! We’re open EVERY SATURDAY – apart from last week but that was a one-off ;o)

So make it part of your Saturday… come on down & enjoy yourself with our wonderful cocktails, carefully chosen wines & beers and exceptional food.

Food Now Available

We had a great night last Saturday. The menu by Rick at All Things Nice was very well received, especially the pizzas which got rave reviews: “outstanding” and “to die for ” being a couple of the comments.

The photo shows the menu available on the night and we are excited to say that we will be repeating this on this coming Saturday the 10th November. There might be a couple of changes or additions but the pizzas will definitely be staying.

** Last orders for food is 9pm.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to our Opening Night.

It was busy all night… with relatives, old friends and new it was a very enjoyable experience… for us anyway ;o)

All the “surveys” were filled in so we’re busy going through them to work out what we did right and, more importantly, what we did wrong.

A quick scan through highlighted that almost everyone wants food: nibbles; Tapas; meat or cheese platters. So we’ll see what we can come up with… not this weekend as it’ll take a few weeks to get organised.

Anyway we’ll be opening again next Saturday… see you there!

We’re busy putting together a brief questionnaire that we’ll be asking everyone to fill in on our Opening Night.

It’s not compulsory but we hope everyone will take the opportunity to steer us in the right direction.

It will help us get our thoughts together on what everyone wants in a new bar in Marple. With your feedback we’ll be able to define what Aggie’s will be and what we do in the future.

We want this bar to be somewhere that you all enjoy being and want to come back to.

Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple

In 1902, when Agatha Christie was twelve, her sister Margaret married James Watts and they lived at Abney Hall, Cheadle. Christie, encouraged by Watts to write, was a frequent visitor to Abney Hall from a young age into adulthood. The area around the hall and Cheadle inspired many settings within her books. Due to living in Devon, Christie often used the railway to travel up to what was then Cheshire, by connecting from the Midland Main Line from London St Pancras onto the Hope Valley Line, and passing through Marple. It is theorised that at some point, a train was delayed there for long enough for the station sign to stick in her mind, to resurface in 1932 at the publication of the first novel featuring the detective Jane Marple.
